for good measure.
"The most memorable hole
on the Mountain Course is the
529-yard, par-5 17th," Francese
said. "It features stellar views
of the Las Vegas Strip but also
has a unique setup in that the
forced carry is on your second
shot, as opposed to the first or
third shot."
The Palm Course opened in
1989. It's shorter than the Moun-
tain Course, but makes up for
its compact length through
strategically placed bunkers and
diverse, feisty par 3s.
"The Palm Course is unique
in that it is a par-70, however
the par 3s tend to be
more challenging
and represent a dif-
ferent experience
that is optimal for
not only recreational
or new players, but also
golfers who are in interested in
more iron-play decisions during
their round," Francese said.
The signature hole on the
Palms Course is the 160-yard,
par-3 12th.
"It's a perfect photo op for all
players," Francese said. "It has a
magnificent view of the Red
Rock Mountain Range to the
west of Las Vegas, in addition to
a very large rock at the front
right of the green."
Both tracks are known for
their challenging putting sur-
faces and golfers "must have
great focus to make putts,"
Francese said.
For those who don't have
time for a full 18 holes, the 12-
hole Cloud Nine par-3 course is
an ideal alternative. Its holes
were designed as "not-to-scale"
replicas of famous par 3s
around the world, including the
island green on the 17th at TPC
Sawgrass and a postage stamp
green in tribute to the 8th hole
at Royal Troon in Scotland.
"Players will be surprised at
how many different clubs and
shots are needed," Francese
said. "And as for the greens, be
careful – they're just as fun, yet
difficult to figure out as on our
championship courses."
The fourth golf option is the
Seventh Heaven putting course,
basically a miniature golf course
without the crazy bumpers and
windmills.
"A putter is the only club you
will need, but you will experi-
ence nine holes of golf with all-
natural grass, sand bunkers,
water hazards and the like,"
Francese said.
Factor in the Angels Park's
Angels Caddies, which Francese
calls "a fun and wonderful ac-
companiment to any round at
Angel Park," and it's easy to see
why Angel Park bills itself as
the "world's most complete Las
Vegas golf experience."
HOME TEAM
ADVANTAGE
T
he Vegas Golden Knights
have made quite a debut
since joining the NHL beginning
with the 2017-18 season.
"The Golden Knights have
taken Las Vegas by storm," said
Angel Park Director of Sales &
Marketing Jed Francese. "Not
only are they the first professional
team in town, they are already
playing so well. Locals and visi-
tors are all very involved."
But what exactly does the
team's success mean for golfers?
"We are running numerous
specials in regards to game days
and discounts on golf shop mer-
chandise the day after a win,"
Francese said. "There is also a se-
lection of Golden Knights mer-
chandise available in our shop."
