G
olf in the Pacific Northwest has really ratch-
eted up its profile over the past decade, but
Mill Creek Country Club has been an indispensa-
ble part of it for more than 40 years.
Designed by legendary Southern California-
based architect Ted Robinson Sr., the par-72,
6,514-yard course, located about 22 miles north of
Seattle, opened in 1975 and was created in large
part as an extension of the natural topography
that surrounds it. Old-school, tree-lined fairways
and undulating greens greet every player, but the
course's beauty and manageable length – only
four holes are longer than 414 yards – is offset by
its layout and attention to detail, accounting for
its challenging 137 slope rating.
The private club offers a variety of member-
ships, including equity, corporate and young pro-
fessional, and is accentuated by its unique
wedding site overlooking the course's ninth hole.
