upcOMIng EvEnTs BOOK A TEE TIME I f you're looking to add a charitable component to your winter golf outings, Classic Club has upcoming events benefitting everything from local high schools to food pantries and military support organizations. Here's a look: ••• > January 12: Xavier College Prep will host a golf tourna- ment to support its mission of "forming men and women with and for others." The Je- suit high school in Palm Desert has hosted "Swinging with the Classics" as one of its main fund-raisers each year. The scramble event is followed by a cocktail recep- tion. clIcK hErE. ••• > January 15: The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission will host its 15th annual charity tournament with breakfast, lunch, prizes and more. The organization helps combat homelessness in local com- munities by providing food, shelter, clothing and spiritual recovery. clIcK hErE. ••• > January 27: The Shadow Hills High School Knights Baseball Celebrity Classic will benefit all three levels of the Indio school's hardball program. Coached by 15- year major league outfielder Coco Crisp, the program went 17-7 last year and should be competitive in the Desert Valley League this season, Crisp's first at the helm. clIcK hErE. ••• > February 10: Food Now will host its ninth annual charity golf event. Food Now and its sister organization, Family Services of the Desert, operate the largest food pantry in the Coachella Val- ley, serving 14 percent of the Desert Hot Springs popula- tion. clIcK hErE. ••• > February 24: If you like military causes, the Front- sight Military Outreach event is a great one to support. The mission of this Inland Em- pire-based religious-centered community is to help veter- ans and their families find camaraderie, trust and heal- ing for their visible and in- visible wounds. clIcK hErE. Fund-rAIsIng Fun Multiple charity events coming to Classic Club > C L I C K H E R E T O C O N TA C T C H A R I TA B L E S A L E S & M A R K E T I N G M A N A G E R D I A N E P L I C H TA wArBurTOn Is BAcK Celebrity golf tournament benefits St. Jude's F or the eighth straight year, The warburton is set to re- turn to Classic Club this spring, and the four-day event features much more than just golf. Hosted by actor Patrick Warburton, the event will be held March 1-4 and will include a Songwriters' Night featuring Nashville musicians playing their biggest hits and telling the stories behind them; a celebrity race and driving experience at the nearby BMW Performance Center; a jam session that last year featured artists Michael Bolton, Huey Lewis, Alice Cooper and a bevy of others; and a Saturday night Soiree. Golfers will enjoy a Friday night pairings party and two days of fun and lively competition, with each four- some having a celebrity player join their group. The event is a benefit for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and last year raised $2.2 million. clIcK hErE.
