Golf's new Par 55
program, seniors
get even more perks when
they play golf in their golden
years.
Available to golfers 55 and
over, the program provides
members discounted green
fees in addition to American
Golf's already reduced rates
for seniors.
Now being offered at many
of the American Golf-man-
aged properties throughout
Southern California, the pro-
gram is $39.95 for an annual
membership.
Members receive a card
with their name on it and a
member number, and can
book times at participating
courses for $5 less than the
posted senior rates.
Members can book their
tee times on GolfZing.com
and then present their mem-
bership card in the golf shop
for the discounted rate, or
they can call the golf shop di-
rect to book their tee time.
"Everybody has been very
positive about it," said Den-
nis Stankovic, General Man-
ager at Rancho San Joaquin in
Irvine. "They like the pro-
gram and the feeling of inclu-
sion. It makes our senior
golfers feel welcome."
As an example, Par 55
members who play at Rancho
San Joaquin play 18 holes for
$35 Monday through Friday
with cart, instead of the regu-
lar $40 rate for seniors.
And the perks don't stop
there.
Par 55 members receive ad-
ditional emails offering even
more savings on weekday
and occasional weekend
green fees, as well as periodic
offers on merchandise and
lunch specials.
Although all American
Golf courses have a program
for senior players that offers
discounted tee times, the Par
55 program is not available at
all locations so be sure to
check with the course prior to
making your tee time.
