CONTEST ENTRIES > C L I C K H E R E F O R A C O M P L E T E L I S T O F A M E R I C A N G O L F C O U R S E S T H R O U G H O U T S O U T H E R N C A L I F O R N I A PHIL MICKELSON He is still the guy to beat, he is still smiling, he is still nice to the fans, and he still has such a great outlook on the game, how to play it and how to enjoy it. – Robert Scotland Besides being a great golfer, Phil is the epitome of a true sportsman. He is always a gentleman, treating everyone with respect. Even after a difficult loss he graciously grants interviews and always speaks well of his opponents. He's an excellent role model for youth and is an out- standing ambassador for golf worldwide. – Carlos Pina JORDAN SPIETH He is an up-and-coming young tal- ent who handles himself with grace and is mature beyond his years. – Peter Park I like the way he handles himself on the Tour for such a young guy. – John Naylor I'm impressed with a young man who can admit to being a "mental midget" when he was having a bad day and then apologizea pub- licly for his child-like behavior. We need more of this attitude rather than the foul-mouthed Tiger. – Yvonne Guerra ZACH JOHNSON He's not a long bomber like a lot of the young guns out there, but he hits the fairway consistently, has a great short game, excellent putter and he's a believer! By the way, we both use a SeeMore putter. He's just a bit better with it than I am. – George Chaco BRANDT SNEDEKER Short pre-shot routine. Ad- dresses the ball only mo- mentarily, then rips it. More amateurs need to watch him and realize that faster play is a good thing! – Ryan Lewis He is so down-to-earth, he reminds me so much of Opie from the Andy Griffith Show. – Betsy Nishioka BUBBA WATSON Bubba represents most of the golfers in the world. He is self- taught, a man who came from nowhere, not a country club kid. I like the fact that he doesn't have a coach for his game, coach for his psyche, or a coach for his life. He is real, he is friendly, he is a real American. – James Fregien TIGER WOODS He is STILL the most entertaining and exciting golfer on the planet! Jack Nicklaus inspired me to try golf. Tiger Woods convinced me to stick to it! More than any other golfer (male or fe- male) in history, Tiger is my family's favorite golfer. – Steve San Gabriel Personal adversity? Swing changes? Caddy swap-outs? Nothing deters Tiger from his origi- nal dream: to be the best golfer he can be, and hopefully, the best of all time. – David Rial FRED COUPLES I love his relaxed, easy swing (when his back isn't bothering him). – Paulette Macros FAN FAVORITES Readers respond with their most-beloved players on tour W e asked readers in the last issue of the American Golf Insider to tell us their favorite PGA Tour player. There were plenty of opinions and not all could make it in the issue, but here are a few of the responses. Congratulations to Robert Scotland, who won the random drawing for a free round of golf!
