COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT Las Positas Insider // 2021 Edition W hen health and safety re- strictions allow, Las Positas Golf Course will be ready to let the good times roll again with some of its most popular community gatherings. At the top of the list in 2021 are Fam- ily Fun Day and Breakfast with Santa, two major events hosted by Las Positas Golf Course and Beeb's Sports Bar & Grill that have provided high levels of entertainment for those living in and around the city of Livermore, whether they play golf or not. Typically, in August, the course hosts a Family Fun Day that draws hundreds of area residents to Las Posi- tas for activities that have in cluded bounce houses, face painting, a balloon artist, glass-etching, and a pet ting area with reptile and animal pre sentations. This event is slated to return in 2021. When it is safe and responsible to do so, other family-based events will be added to the calendar such as Women in Golf Day, Family Golf Day and golf clinics. In fact, plans are in the works for 2022 to put on an Easter Egg Hunt, a Fourth of July event, and several other fun-themed activities to coincide with spring and summer. "It is always good to offer events such as these to bring out non-golfers and show them what Las Positas and Beeb's have to offer," said Lance Iwanaka, Senior Operations Manager for CourseCo. "It is a great way for families to enjoy the facility, as well as to encourage their interest in golf and create future customers." Another event expected to come back in 2021 is the Beeb's Charity Cup, which was postponed last year due to the pandemic. Slated for September, The Cup sup- ports the Sentinels of Freedom, a non- profit organization that connects permanently disabled veterans with community volunteers who pool their resources to provide housing, an acces- sible vehicle, a suitable job, and ongo- ing community support.
