T he past year has created significant challenges for many businesses due to the ongoing pandemic. By taking a diligent, careful and measured approach, Las Positas Golf Course has been able to successfully navigate those challenges and provide a safe recreational activity for residents of Livermore and surrounding cities. "Our priority has been to ensure the well-being of our guests as well as every member of our staff," General Manager Sam Bozzo said. "Everything we do here is focused on health and safety protocols so that everyone is as safe as possible when they come to our facility." Las Positas was closed for 48 days starting on March 17 last year. When it re- opened on May 4, it did so with extensive new measures in place around the course and at Beeb's Sports Bar & Grill that focus on sanitization, limiting touch points, and encouraging social distancing. "We have been successful mainly by following COVID safety and sanitation protocols set by CourseCo, all day and every day," Bozzo said, noting that poli- cies are communicated via signage on property as well as online. "As always, this is an effort to keep staff and guests safe as well as ensuring complete compli- ance with city, county and state COVID protocols." Bozzo said the focus that Las Positas, CourseCo and the city of Livermore have placed on health and safety has paid off by giving golfers the opportunity to con- tinue playing the game they love. "Most people are very happy that the courses are open and available for them to play golf and enjoy the outdoors dur- ing this time," Bozzo said. "And they are more than happy to follow a few limita- tions and restrictions."
