Las Positas Insider // 2021 Edition
MEMBERSHIP PROGRAMS
continued from the previous pageā¦
To kick off 2021, Las Positas
launched the Players Club and
Seniors Players Club Memberships,
which include tee time discounts by
as much as 20 percent every day of
the week for an annual fee. The
course sold more than 400 Players
Club Memberships in the first two
months of 2021, and the program is
on pace to reach the goal of 1,000.
The initiatives are an effective tool
when it comes to increasing loyalty
and generating repeat customers, ac-
cording to General Manager Sam
Bozzo, and they provide incentive
for golfers to play regularly at Las
Positas, rather than somewhere else.
"We have found in the first couple
of months that our new Players Club
Members are playing more rounds
than ever before," Bozzo said. "The
Players Club Membership offers
great value to all Las Positas golfers.
It allows us to reach a much wider
audience and to offer great benefits
to our frequent players with dis-
counts every time they play."
With the Sunset Club and Players
Club Memberships, Las Positas
hopes to capitalize on the momen-
tum gained throughout 2020 when
many people picked up the game or
returned to it during the pandemic.
"We saw about a 22 percent in-
crease in rounds played in 2020 com-
pared to 2019, despite the fact that
we were closed for seven weeks dur-
ing the beginning of the pandemic,"
Bozzo said. "I think any business
would be thrilled to experience that
type of growth."
FRESH FACES
LAS POSITAS SEES A
SPIKE IN NEW PLAYERS
T
he game of golf has been going
through a growth spurt at Las Positas.
Over the past year, the course has
seen more and more families, seniors,
women, and juniors participate in the game,
including both new and returning golfers.
"With few other activities available for
recreation, all age groups have been taking
advantage of the opportunity to participate
in a safe outdoor activity," said Las Positas
General Manager Sam Bozzo.
The surge in involvement has led to more
golf rounds at Las Positas, especially on the
par-3 Links 9, where a shorter and more
novice-friendly track led to a 35% increase
in play from 2019 to 2020.
Activity at the driving range has also in-
creased, even though Las Positas has
been operating with more dis-
tancing and safety precautions.
Footgolf, a game similar to
golf except participants kick a
soccer ball into a much larger
cup, has been booming as well.
"We are so excited to see all new
faces enjoying Las Positas," Bozzo said.
With opportunities such as Footgolf,
along with successful lesson programs and
offerings such as the Players Club, Las Posi-
tas and its management company CourseCo
continue to strive to grow the game.
