With that in mind, Classic Club will continue a decade-long tradition and host 8:30 a.m. holiday shotguns on Thanksgiving and New Year's Day, and possibly Christmas. There will also be one on Super Bowl Sunday. While the events aren't tournaments, the shotgun format allows a large number of golfers to play the course early so they can get their golf fix before they move on to other holiday gatherings. "We see it as an opportunity for peo- ple to enjoy a round of golf with family on the holidays and still have the rest of the day to do whatever they like," said Head Golf Professional Dawson Hess. "Especially with Thanksgiving, when you eat later in the day, you can be done with golf by 1:30 p.m. and then you can enjoy family time at home." The Thanksgiving and Super Bowl shotguns are expected to max out at 120 players, so golfers are encouraged to reserve their spots soon. Green fees are the regular rates for the time of year, and resident rates apply just as they would any other day. ................................................................................ > Opening dAy is Friday, November 9 following fall overseed. clicK here!
