THE 19TH HOLE nation. On my most recent 10-day expedition through B.C. – from Van- couver Island to Vancouver to Whistler – I played three courses on Van- couver Island Golf Trail and three courses in Whistler, with many breathtaking stops and photo ops along the way. Enjoyed the Mountain Course at Bear Mountain Golf Resort in Victoria, site of last year's Pa- cific Links Championship, a PGA Tour Champions event; Olympic View Golf Club, a visually spectacular course with abundant wildlife that winds through nature; and Crown Isle Resort in Courtenay, a three- hour drive up the coast , a superbly manicured course featuring 11 lakes and views of the Comox Glacier in the distance. If you like views of cas- cading waterfalls, snow-capped mountains and soaring eagles, you'll enjoy the train ride from Vancouver to Whistler as much as the golf at Nicklaus North, Fairmont Chateau Whistler GC and Whistler GC. At the latter, black bear sightings are par for the course. The great thing about travel destination bucket lists is you can contin- ually update them. Cypress Point, Shadow Creek in Las Vegas and Royal County Down in Northern Ireland have been on mine for a long time, and now I also have added Cape Kidnappers in New Zealand and Legend Golf & Safari Resort in Limpopo, South Africa. The "Extreme 19th" at Legend G&S is the highest (1,410 feet) and longest (395 yards) par-3 in the world. You take a helicopter to the cliff-top teebox at the peak of Hanglip Mountain and then take aim below at a massive green shaped like the continent of Africa. Hang time is at least 20 seconds. If you make an ace – nobody has yet – you win $1 million. So keep dreaming. continued from previous screen PackaGe IncluSIonS: > Breakfast Daily at Indian Wells Golf Course > 2 Days of Unlimited Golf at Indian Wells > Celebrity Course > Players Course > Free Arrival Round after 2PM Additional inclusions may apply depending on resort fee of accommodations selected PRIcInG: > Miramonte Indian Wells Resort & Spa - $173 per golfer, per night based on double occupancy > Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa - $167 per golfer, per night based on double occupancy > Renaissance Indian Wells Resort & Spa - $124 per golfer, per night based on double occupancy > Indian Wells Resort Hotel - $103 per golfer, per night based on double occupancy CLICK HERE TO BOOK A STAYANDPLAY PACKAGE NOW!
