NEW YEAR, NEW GEAR
2018 BRINGS EQUIPMENT CHANGES FOR TOP TOUR PROS
I
t's been said that the only
thing constant is change, and
that maxim holds true when it
comes to professional golfers
and the equipment they take
to work with them every day. For the
world's best players, this time of year
often brings with it adjustments in
golf clubs, golf balls and even the ap-
parel they use. Here's a look at a
sampling of what's new with Tour
pros and their equipment in 2018.

Garcia signs with Callaway
Perhaps the biggest news in the
golf equipment world over the last
few months was Sergio Garcia and
TaylorMade ending their 15-year re-
lationship and the 2017 Masters win-
ner signing with Callaway Golf. He
started his 2017-18 campaign with an
Epic driver, Apex MB irons and Call-
away's Mack Daddy wedges in his
bag, as well as an Odyssey putter and
Callaway's new Chrome Soft ball.
"I'm really excited to switch to
Callaway," Garcia said in a release.
"After testing different brands I real-
ized Callaway's technology and in-
novation will help me maximize my
game and perform to the best of my
ability."

Top rookie joins Callaway, too
While Garcia lends some experi-
ence to Callaway's roster of staff play-
ers, the company has largely gone
with younger golfers, and signed a
great one in 2017 PGA Tour Rookie of
the Year Xander Schauffele.
The 24-year-old was 26th in the
world rankings after two strong per-
formances to open the year in
Hawaii, keeping the momentum
rolling after having won the Green-
brier Classic and the Tour Champi-
onship last season.
"I've been so impressed with how
Callaway clubs have performed for
me from the first time I started test-
ing them during the offseason,"
Schauffele said. "I'm really confident
in how their equipment will help im-
prove every part of my game."

Sergio Garcia will have
Callaway clubs in his
bag top to bottom.
