u u u Tiger swinging TaylorMade We'd be remiss if we didn't mention Tiger Woods' comeback at December's Hero World Challenge and his return to playing in full-field events at the Farmers Insurance Open. With Torrey Pines just a short drive from TaylorMade's Carlsbad, headquarters, Woods played the com- pany's M3 driver as well as M1 and M3 fairway woods. He also kept the TGR prototype irons in his bag that served him so well in his return in the Bahamas, as well as the Scotty Cameron Newport 2 GSS putter. u u u K.J. will be playing with Ping Eight-time PGA Tour winner K.J. Choi, the first Korean to earn a PGA Tour card and to win on tour, has signed an agree- ment to play Ping equipment. Choi made his debut as a Ping pro in January at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Asia's winningest golfer, Choi has amassed 22 victories worldwide since turning pro in 1994. He will play a mini- mum of 13 Ping clubs, including a G400 driver and fairway woods, G400 hybrid, G400 irons, Glide 2.0 wedges, and a Sigma G Piper putter. u u u Lexi signs with Bridgestone Bridgestone Golf has signed LPGA Tour star Lexi Thompson to a multi-year agreement to exclusively play and pro- mote its high-performance golf balls. The 22-year-old phenom is currently using Bridgestone's Tour B X ball, as it provided the ideal mix of distance, accu- racy and feel. Thompson, who has cap- tured eight LPGA Tour titles, one major championship and the 2017 Race to the CME Globe, had been playing the com- pany's B330-S for the past two seasons in a non-endorser capacity. u u u This and that… Two-time World Long Drive champion- turned professional tour player Jamie Sadlowski has signed as a global ambas- sador for Cleveland Golf, and initial test- ing has Sadlowski hitting the Launcher HB driver 372 yards. … When Maverick McNealy turned pro in October, the Stan- ford product and former top-ranked ama- teur star immediately signed to play Callaway golf clubs and wear Under Ar- mour apparel. … Hall of Famer Ernie Els has joined XXIO as a global ambassador. During his 2018 schedule on the PGA Tour and European Tour, Els will play with Srixon/Cleveland Golf/XXIO equip- ment as well as carry an XXIO bag. … Five-time PGA Tour winner Patrick Reed has joined the Nike Golf roster, along with Englishman Chris Wood, a 2016 Ryder Cup player and three-time European tour winner. … And finally, Rickie Fowler has agreed to a contract extension with Cobra Puma Golf. Fowler, who jump-started his season with a record-breaking win at the 2017 Hero World Challenge, will continue to play Cobra equipment and wear Puma apparel, accessories and footwear.
