Founded in 2011, the West Palm Beach, Florida-based com- pany led by a group of golf en- thusiasts has found the sweet spot in its service- oriented model whose mission remains to make traveling more convenient for golfers. "Standing in long lines, anxiously waiting at baggage claim, squeezing bags into trunks – we knew there had to be a better way," says Nicholas Coleman, CEO. The better way, it turned out, was ship- ping your clubs, not schlepping them. To date, more than 250,000 golfers have uti- lized the service, saving time and aggravation. The company's ap- proach to a better travel experience took a hard look at the existing not- so-affordable shipping options on the market. "Our goal was to make shipping golf clubs an affordable option for everyone," Coleman said. "Under- standing how impor- tant golf clubs are to golfers, we knew we had to also provide a level of support and service that went above and beyond what the major logistics pro- viders could provide." The company's focus on personalized sup- port and service for its customers is key. "We consider our- selves much more than a logistics company," says Coleman. "Over the years we've learned that people really dis- like the thought of dragging their bags around from stop to stop." Coleman said that in most cases golfers can expect to see a 30- to 60-percent savings ver- sus going to carriers directly. Ship Sticks is literally a company of golfers for golfers. They are associated with more than 3,500 of the world's leading golf courses and resorts. In addition, Ship Sticks recently part- nered with OB Sports to provide cardholders an ongoing 10 percent discount to use wher- ever their travels may take them. More growth is on the way this year. "In 2018, we see ourselves growing significantly in the golf travel space by serving as a valuable resource for customers looking to gain insight into where they might take their next golf trip," Coleman said. "We feel that destina- tion golf is the strongest it's even been. We're excited to play a role in making it easier for golfers across the world get to and from these destinations."
