A SIGHT TO SEE

A
n ideal pairing of the rich tradition of
beachside art and the majestic local land-
scape has resulted in a prominent artist
teaming up with a progressive sportswear com-
pany, to create artwork that showcases the beauty
of Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point.
Specifically, it's the spectacular third hole of the
Southern California seaside course. Captured by
renowned Laguna Beach-based painter Dave Ho-
brecht, the painting has been transferred to T-shirts
designed by apparel company TravisMathew.
"The third hole fits the unique Southern Califor-
nia lifestyle – the sunsets, waves rolling in, people
surfing," said Monarch Beach General Manager.
Eric Lohman. "Dave's rendition captures this vibe
in a unique, stylistic way."

A

dends for a group of
golfers from Angel Park in
Las Vegas, who cruised
around their home track
for two days in mid-No-
vember en route to win-
ning the annual OB Sports
Team Championship.
A team from Sandia
Golf Club in New Mexico,
finished second, and the
squad from Tijeras Creek
Golf Club in Southern Cal-
ifornia placed third.
"Most certainly our
'home-field advantage'
came into play," said
Angel Park's Director of
Sales & Marketing Jed
Francese. "Our Tourna-
ment Coordinator Ben
Buck is an excellent golf
professional and a great
player, and he deserves all
the accolades on being
our team leader and low
professional."
