WHAT'S NEW COBRA F:MAX THE FULL PACKAGE T he new F-max line from Cobra is available in stores now, and brings back the familiar and easy-to-hit clubs in a package that is lighter and more forgiving than ever before. Designed for mid-to-high handicap- pers and players with moderate swing speeds, the clubs are configured to produce longer and straighter shots with more consistency. "This falls into Cobra's super game-improve- ment category," said Ted Shandi, a club fitter at the Van's Golf Shop in Phoenix. "They're great for men on the verge of going from regular flex to senior flex, as well as for ladies. It's a very forgiving set of golf clubs. For someone just getting into golf, it would be a phenomenal set to start with." The driver comes in a traditional model and an offset model, which allows for higher trajectories and a draw bias. The irons – also with an offset hosel – are draw weighted, with more mass in the heel and a lower center of gravity for improved ball flight. Of note, the irons are also available in a single-length option, a concept popular- ized by Cobra staff member and budding PGA Tour star Bryson DeChambeau. "Other manufacturers offer similar clubs, but not with the added attributes of them being lightweight, offset and draw-biased," Shandi said. "People who have hit them love them. It has been a popular line." It has taken another step forward with the introduction of the ECCO S-Drive, which comes in five color schemes that make the shoes look more like they belong at the start line of a marathon than the first tee. With bright colors and a running shoe design, they're great for golfers who may feel the saddle- shoe look is too traditional for their tastes and for whom comfort is paramount. "ECCO is already one of the most popular shoes out there and among the best-made shoes on the planet," said Tom Ashton, the general manager at the Edwin Watts store in Jacksonville, Florida. "They're really the breakthrough company that brought the spikeless shoe to the forefront." They're not just great-looking shoes, though. They feature an asymmetrical closure system for support and stability, and the outsole combines traction, flexibility and durability. SHOP HERE. READ MORE ABOUT COBRA F#MAX AT THE LEADING EDGE
