I
am casting aside the crystal ball for now and
bringing in the heavy artillery – the magic
lamp. It's not about what I think is going to
happen during the 2017-18 PGA Tour season,
but rather what I'm hoping to see. Let's give the ol'
oil lamp a thorough rubdown in hopes that the
genie inside will grant me these five wishes.

PHIL MICKELSON WINS THE U.S. OPEN
Every time we think Lefty is done, he whirls
back like a young Sun Devil. A disappointingly
mediocre 2016-17 season for Phil Mickelson saw
him post just four Top 10s – and not a single top 3 –
through August, rank 162nd in Driving Accuracy
and 163rd in Greens in Regulation. His season
reached its nadir when he and faithful companion
Jim "Bones" Mackay, his caddie of 25 years, parted
ways in late June, just after Mickelson turned 47.
But then Phil turned back into Phil.
