OB SPORTS ADDS 2 COURSES TO ROSTER O B Sports recently took over management duties for Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, and will oversee all golf and club operations for the facility. Designed by noted architect Ellis Maples, Forest Oaks opened in 1962 and has long been considered one of the best tracks in the state. As host course for the PGA Tour's Greater Greensboro Open from 1977 through 2007, it was rated among the favorite stops on Tour by the players. Additionally, OB Sports has been selected to oversee golf and restau- rant operations at Hunter's Creek Golf Club, a popular public facility in Orlando, Florida. The Lloyd Clifton- design stretches to 7,268 yards from the tips, and is highlighted by strate- gically placed bunkering, expansive greens, and meandering fairways that run seamlessly around 13 lakes. OB SPORTS GOLF & LEISURE x SUMMER 2017 x obsports.com l IN THE NEWS T he Golf Club at Vis- toso has been known for years as one of Arizona's top courses, but it also has a newfound reputation as an ideal venue for one of the country's fastest- growing outdoor music festivals. The Oro Valley Music Fes- tival returns to Vistoso for the third year September 30- October 1, and it continues to get bigger and better. With a Saturday country lineup featuring Lee Brice, The Brothers Osborne, Brooke Eden and more fol- lowed by Sunday's adult contemporary sets that will see LeAnn Rimes, Gavin De- Graw, headliner Train and others take the stage, the fes- tival packs a large bucket full of top-notch entertain- ment into one weekend. "It's just a cool, unique event," said Rich Elias, the GM at The Golf Club at Vis- toso, noting that the festival has brought something new and positive to Vistoso and the surrounding Tucson community. "You have to be here to really experience what it's all about. It's much more than just a concert – it's the whole experience." The festival has grown from a one-day affair with about 4,000 attendees to two nights drawing up to 16,000 music lovers who come from all over the western United States. It's put on in partner- ship with iHeart Radio, and tickets start at $59.50, with upgraded options such as the TravisMathew Awesome VIP Experience for $249.50, which includes drink tickets, food from Brother John's BBQ, merchandise credit and more. Adding to the festival feel, guests are allowed to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Those coming in from out of town can stay at the nearby Hilton El Conquista- dor, which offers free round- trip shuttles to the festival. Visitors also should consider arriving early or staying late to tee it up on the 6,954- yard, par-72 Tom Weiskopf- designed Golf Club at Vistoso, rated by Golf Digest as Tucson's best public course. The challenging lay- out is matched only by the majestic Sonoran desert landscape, and the area's natural beauty is a big draw for those attending the festi- val as well. ................................................... > VISIT The Golf Club at Vistoso in Arizona.
