n Quickly becoming one of the favorite
annual events of golfers from all over the
country, the Sandia Shootout is back the sec-
ond week in May, and should be as competi-
tive and fun as ever. The 7,752-yard high
desert track is reserved for practice rounds
Sunday, and players compete in a two-person
scramble Monday followed by a two-person
shamble Tuesday. There's a horse race
shootout for flight winners after play, plus
plenty of other contests and prizes. With ac-
commodations at the luxurious Sandia Resort
& Casino, players should find plenty to keep
themselves busy off the golf course as well.

n Part of the TravisMathew "Awesome Tour,"
this tournament packs plenty of entertainment
into Memorial Day weekend. Dinner and
drinks Friday and Saturday nights are accom-
panied by live music from the Seattle-based
party band Country Lips, and the Travis-
Mathew Tour Bus will be front and center all
weekend, featuring a rooftop party deck,
high-definition TVs and the brand's latest mer-
chandise. There will be prizes for net and
gross divisions after play Saturday and Sunday.
Two nights accommodations are included at
The Inn at Gamble Sands, which features ma-
jestic views of the Cascades mountain range.

CENTENNIAL GOLF CLUB // JULY 14-15

event is about much more than just golf. There's
a double shotgun shamble on Friday with gross
and net awards, and the action heats up with
Friday's VIP Kickoff Party, featuring complimentary
appetizers, wine, beer and select cocktails from
Dogwood Distilling. Saturday night brings
The Feast, which is expected to attract 1,500
revelers to Centennial's clubhouse lawn to enjoy
cuisine from a bevy of the region's top chefs and
limitless local libations, plus a rocking concert by
Precious Byrd, featuring Grammy Award winning
artist Lonnie Chapin.
