And Odyssey Golf 's latest line of O- Works putters has caught the ears of many. The technology is called Microhinge, which consists of two pieces, a 304 stainless steel Hinge Plate backed by a soft thermoplastic elastomer inner layer. That sounds technical and it is, with each insert the culmination of a rigorous 23-step production process. The proprietary insert is designed to gently flex and rebound at impact to produce forward spin, which is critical to get the ball rolling imme- diately, smoothly and accurately. And while you still might not generate as much forward spin as a tour player, this will help you get closer than you've ever been. shop here. titleist pro v1 & pro v1x rolling out new enhancements to the #1 ball G etting to the top of anything is tough, but staying on top is even tougher. And even though the Titleist Pro V1 has been the domi- nant golf ball in the world since its introduction in 2000 as the most played, purchased and recognizable ball on the market, it just keeps getting better. Enhancements to the core, cover system, casing layer and dimple design have resulted in a ball for 2017 that retains the Pro V1's customary soft feel and durability, but with less spin, longer distance and more consistent flight. The new spherically designed dimples produce a higher trajectory and the new core results in faster ball speeds and less spin on shots with the driver. "The biggest change in both balls is the dimple count and dimple pattern," said Rowdy Bank, Store Manager at The Golf Mart of San Diego. "These changes were made to optimize both trajectory and stability in the wind." Bank said both balls have low spin characteristics off the driver and long irons to help with control and distance, and have more spin as you work your way to the wedges to help with distance control and accu- racy. The Pro V1 will fly lower off the driver, spin less around the green, and feel softer than the Pro V1x. "Together, the 2017 Pro V1 and Pro V1x balls are for any and every golfer," Bank said. "A great ball just got even better." shop here.
