T
he assignment itself seemed simple enough.
With Valentine's Day right around the corner,
the editors of OB Sports Golf & Leisure asked
me and others in the industry to share, in a
couple hundred words, why we love the
game of golf. The challenge arose when
trying to curtail my thoughts into
such a small amount space. I could
have written a book on the topic.
Like many who grew up with a
deep appreciation for the game that
later developed into a lifelong career, my
passion for golf knows no bounds. I suspect
the same can be said for the others who contributed
their sentiments to the article you'll find in this issue.
Speaking of those who love golf, Boyd Summerhays
of McDowell Mountain Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ari-
zona, who is so dedicated to his craft that he was re-
cently honored by a national publication as one of the
Best Young Teachers in America, shares five resolu-
tions that will improve your game in the new year.
Finally, the greatest player of his generation is back
on tour and we've got an in-depth story that chroni-
cles why there's no one in the game quite like Tiger
