O
B Sports is partnering with
the Movember Foundation
by utilizing the game of golf
to draw attention to important men's
health initiatives.
"There are roughly 19 million male
golfers in the United States," said
Marisa Fallone, Director of Marketing
& Events for OB Sports. "Given our
access to such a large male audience,
golf is a great vehicle for us to share
the message of men's heath."
The Movember Foundation raises
awareness of men's health issues by
challenging men to grow moustaches
during November or to make a com-
mitment to get active. This year, 10
OB Sports courses will support the
initiative by helping to raise funds
through tournaments, contests and
short-format skills challenges.
"These events will be open to all
golfers, from the most skilled to the
novice," Fallone said. "They're meant
to be competitive, but not the least
bit intimidating."
A portion of each green fee will be
donated to Movember Foundation.
This marks the second year of in-
volvement for OB Sports, having
raised more than $8,000 last year.
"Because of our success with what
we referred to as 'MoGolf' last year,
we gained the attention of the Foun-
dation," Fallone said. "And we have
been working for the past nine months
on various initiatives to expand on
what we accomplished in 2015."
