end has long been one of Oregon's least
best-kept secrets. A haven for summer and
winter outdoor enthusiasts, the area is also
home to more than a dozen microbreweries, includ-
ing Deschutes Brewery, the sixth largest in the
country. The pub in Bend, a downtown fixture since
1988, offers 19 beers on tap, as well as a full array
of the brewery's bottled beer, including seasonal
brews as well as small-batch experimental beers.
Deschutes is located about four miles from
Tetherow Golf Club. The David McLay Kidd-de-
signed course routinely makes the list of the top
100 best public courses in the country and also of-
fers a 50-room boutique hotel.
