W
ith a name like the Van-
derbilt Legends Club, a
golf course – heck, any
entity – has set an obvi-
ously high bar for itself. The name Van-
derbilt is synonymous with American
financial success, and the word legend
is not one causally tossed around.
But the private golf course in
Franklin, Tennessee, that bears the
name more than backs up the presti-
gious monicker with high quality in
every aspect.
Home to both the men's and
women's golf teams from Vanderbilt
University, the property features two
superb courses designed by former
PGA Tour star Tom Kite and renowned
architect Bob Cupp, a stellar 19-acre
practice facility, an award-winning golf
shop, and pristine course conditions.
And while its luxurious clubhouse
and dining facilities are an incompara-
ble amenity, first and foremost the club
is all about the golf.
"We are a true golf club," General
Manager David Latture said. "Almost
half of our membership are single-digit
golfers. It is a fun place to play – with
the best practice facilities of any club
in the region."
