n In all serIousness, golf should be fun
S
ometimes, us golfers tend to take ourselves –
and our golf games – a little too seriously. Not
that there's anything wrong with that per se.
Golf is a sport that often demands a certain amount of
intensity and focus, especially for tour profes-
sionals who play at the highest levels
with much at stake.
But for the rest of us, playing the
game should really be more about
having fun and enjoying the cama-
raderie among our playing partners.
Hopefully, we'll get to see plenty of
that on display in early October when some
of the world's best players compete for the Presidents
Cup in Korea. Golf typically isn't thought of as a team
sport, but it's always fun to watch teammates feed off
each other in the heat of battle. You can read all about
the event in this issue, where national golf writer Joe
Passov offers his take on this year's matches.
And speaking of team camaraderie, our OB Sports
National Team Championship returns to Tucson in
December, which you also can read about in this issue.
And while competition will be fierce and the stakes
high, I can tell you right now what our top priority
will be: to make sure everyone enjoys the game.
