FALL 2015
W
ente Vineyards has
established itself as a
premier destination for
fine wines and fine food, but there
is a new amenity on The Estates
property design instantly fa-
miliar to Bay Area food-
ies: a food truck with a
built-in pizza oven.
The Wood Fire
Kitchen at Wente Vine-
yards will allow patrons
to order freshly baked wood-fired
pizzas along with a variety of
street-food items, such as baked
mac-and-cheese, pork belly tacos,
and smoked brisket chili-cheese
fries.
"The catering team has been re-
searching a food truck for quite
some time, as we were looking to
offer high-quality, innovative, and
quickly prepared food that would
appeal to a wide variety of our
guests," said Robert Gundrey,
Vice President of Hospitality
Sales & Operations at Wente
Family Estates. "The popular-
ity of food trucks, especially in
the Bay Area, helped us de-
cide to move forward. Our
catering chef, Jeff Farlow, did
the research, found the food
truck builders, and designed a
great working portable
kitchen, complete with a
mesquite-fired wood pizza
oven, range, deep fryer, refrig-
erator, and freezer."
The food truck is particularly
designed for guests who want a
more casual dining experience
with innovative food.
"It will operate under the same
vision of offering the freshest, high-
est-quality ingredients that can be
found at our restaurant, grill, and
catering operations," he said.
The food truck will operate at
The Estate Winery & Tasting
Room on Tesla Road starting late
September on weekends and dur-
ing special events.
Made-to-order pizzas will be
offered at the new food truck.
