T he City of Tucson has selected OB Sports to run its five municipal courses and to lend its ex- pertise to enhance the golf facilities. "We believe with their experience in the Arizona golf market, and their ap- proach to golf facility man- agement, OB Sports can achieve the goals we share of enhancing the golf experience for those who play on the five Tucson city courses," said City Manager Richard Miranda. The courses OB Sports will oversee include Dell Urich, El Rio, Fred Enke, Randolph and Silverbell. El Rio dates back to the 1930s and is the original site of the PGA Tour's Tucson Open. Randolph Golf Course also hosted the Tucson Open, as well as the Seiko Tucson Match Play Championship. Dell Urich was once home of the Tucson LPGA Tour stop. "We respect and appreci- ate the city's rich history as a provider of exceptional golf to the everyday golfer," said OB Sports President C.A. Roberts. "We believe our team can reach the goals set out by the city while also preserving the value and quality of play." OB Sports will maintain the courses and facilities, operate and manage the pro shops, ranges and cart operations, manage the food and bever- age, market the golf courses, and develop and implement capital improvements.
