4 • First Tee – Coachella Valley Magazine • Summer 2023 H ello First Tee – Coachella Valley Participants, Fam- ilies, and Friends. And just like that, summer has arrived! Though I think we can all agree that the Coachella Valley has had a "soft" opening to our normal summer conditions – thanks to the kind weather gods! I wanted to take a few moments and send out a spe- cial Peanut Butter Cup Press up- date and bring the entire FTCV family up to speed on the growth of our chapter. First Tee – Coachella Valley by the Numbers When FTCV decided to re-open programming in late 2020 and with the pandemic in full force, the future of our chapter was a lit- tle uneasy. However, like most of the golf industry, FTCV saw a boom and with this increase in interest the chapter was able to set sail on a new journey. Over the last two years, the journey has led us to steady growth in both total reg- istrations and individuals partici- pating in FTCV programming and classes. Below is a comparison of where the chapter was in 2021, 2022 and where we are in 2023. > 2021: 1,388 total registrations, 786 individual participants; > 2022: 2,071 total registrations, 867 individual participants; > 2023: 2,082 total registrations, 831 individual participants (and that's just through June 19!). I am very excited to share the numbers as it shows that First Tee – Coachella Valley has not only introduced our platform to new participants, but also has retained the participants dedicated to our chapter. I look forward to sharing even better numbers down the road!
