G uests don't have to go far to get a good meal at Gamble Sands. Danny Boy Bar & Grill is located on property and serves up a delicious menu of classic Northwestern fare. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Brewster, the restaurant draws in- spiration from its North Central Wash- ington location, and strives to source as many food items as possible from nearby farmers and companies. "It's not always the easiest task with some items, but I can say we draw the majority of what goes onto each plate from the Pacific North- west," said Director of Food and Bev- erage Riley Davis. "We try to keep the star of each dish as locally or re- gionally sourced as possible, then add a bit of flare with seasonings, spices and methods of cooking." Named after the grandson of family patriarch Dan Gamble, John Daniel "Danny" Gebbers, Danny Boy Bar & Grill serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and offers fresh, ready-to- go deli sandwiches, snacks, sweets, milkshakes and more. Golfers with an appetite will appre- ciate specialty items on the menu such as the Danny Boy Burger, which features a half-pound of beef with all the fixings, a touch of sweet and tangy barbecue sauce and a side of classic French fries. There's also the 9-ounce Zabuton steak, served with broccolini and fingerling potatoes. "The steak is full of flavor and it's one you don't find too often when dining out," Davis said. "We put a lot of work into the menu each season to make sure every dish is a feature- level item." Danny Boy also serves a host of specialty cocktails for guests to enjoy, such as The Grain Elevator, a twist on the old fashioned using Maker's Mark, angostura aromatic and orange bitters, a dash of simple syrup, and Carpano Antica. "The elevated version can be made with our Gamble Sands Bourbon we created in 2022 at the Maker's Mark Distillery in Kentucky," Davis said. Danny Boy seats roughly 70 guests inside and 60 outside. Outdoor lounge seating on the lawn overlooking the 18th green of the Sands Course is also available for cocktail service. "Danny Boy and Gamble Sands are special places that have a great at- mosphere," Davis said. "The restau- rant is upbeat and the remote destination gives it a peaceful vibe." In exciting news, Danny Boy will have a companion restaurant at Gamble Sands in 2023. The new establishment is expected to seat up to 300 guests with a pub feel and menu items focused on sandwiches, salads and pizzas.
