POWER LUNCH
Join Michael Mondavi for afternoon food and wine
W
ine enthusiasts won't
want to miss one of the
most anticipated events
this year as Classic Club's Bellatrix
Restaurant is scheduled to host a
Michael Mondavi Wine Lunch on
Wednesday, February 15.
Guests will be treated to exqui-
site wine and food pairings
while being entertained by a
discussion from Michael
Mondavi (pictured), the co-
founder of the tremendously
successful Robert Mondavi
Winery and founder of Folio
Wine Partners. Mondavi will
present the wide variety of
wines produced and sold by Folio
along with some of his insights
from nearly five decades in the
business making some of the
world's most popular wines.
"Michael Mondavi is very
charismatic and has so many sto-
ries to share," said Anthony Ne-
spoli, the Food and Beverage
Director at Classic Club. "His view
on the wine business and the im-
portance of partnerships and fam-
ily is what sets them apart."
The five-course Michael Mon-
davi Wine Lunch offering starts
with a grilled shrimp salad, pro-
gresses to a ceviche and scallop
tostada, followed by a leek and
corn soup. A pan-seared veal chop
entree is finished off by a delec-
table and unique dessert – warm
goat cheese topped with black
cherry compote drizzled with
honey and served with a side of
toasted glass bread.
Wines paired with each dish, in
order, will be Charles Heidsieck
Brut Reserve, Dutton-Goldfield
Dutton Ranch Chardonnay, Bibi
Graetz Testamatta, M by Mondavi
Cabernet, and Donnafugata Ben
Rye Passito di Pantelleria.
The 1 p.m. event is $100 per
person, and reservations can be
made by calling (760) 601-3600.
