U.S. Open returns to The Country Club in Brook-
line, Mass., one of the nation's most respected eld-
ers, while in July the game's best will celebrate the
150th British Open (a.k.a. the Open Championship)

Quirky, Unforgettable Layouts
All twenty-seven holes at The Country Club
occupy typical New England terrain, moderately
rolling, dotted with ponds and copses of trees, and
studded with dense rough and rock outcroppings.
For all of its variety and Old World, lay-of-the-
land appeal, however, The Country Club's tourna-
