It's a not-for-profit organization, with donations counted as a write-off. Because of its desire to help other charitable organizations beyond its own grant program, golf fees for fund-raising tournaments translate into more dollars going to the charity. While green fees typically hover around $139 during peak season, a charity hosting a golf tournament to raise money is charged $40 per player. "That price break translates into tens of thousands of dollars that goes directly to the charities," Rubino said. The course is open to the public and offers a savings card to anyone living the valley. Rubino said area residents look at the course as a point of pride because of the help it offers to charities, creating a connection between the golf course and its surrounding communities. "People understand that we are here for the charities and the communities," Rubino said. "People come out with a sense of community pride." clIcK TO cOnTAcT chArITABlE sAlEs & MArKETIng MAnAgEr dIAnE plIchTA Or cAll (760) 601-3679.
