pon first glance, Classic
Club is much like most
high-end, daily-fee golf
courses – the fairways are lush,
the greens roll smooth, and the
clubhouse is phenomenal.
But what sets Classic Club
apart from virtually any other
club in the country is that the
course is owned by a

to help people help themselves.
To that end, the Foundation
offers significant financial sav-
ings to non-profits hosting
fund-raising tournaments at
Classic Club. In fact, more than

is considered a tax-exempt charity. It's a not-for-profit organization, with donations counted as
a write-off. Because of its desire
to help other charitable organizations beyond its own grant
program, golf fees for fund-raising tournaments translate into
more dollars going to the charity.
While green fees typically
hover around $139 during peak
season, a charity hosting a golf
tournament to raise money is
charged $40 per player.
"That price break translates
into tens of thousands of dollars
that goes directly to the charities," Rubino said.
The course is open to the public and offers a savings card to
anyone living the valley. Rubino
said area residents look at the
course as a point of pride because of the help it offers to
charities, creating a connection
between the golf course and its
surrounding communities.
"People understand that we
are here for the charities and the
communities," Rubino said.
"People come out with a sense
of community pride."
