he inaugural residents
Championship at Classic
Club served as a great way
to reward Resident Card mem-
bers with a fun outing, and there
are hopes to hold similar events
in the future.

Both teams took home free
golf rounds at Classic Club for
their efforts.
The Residents Championship
was created as an added benefit
for Resident Card members –
open only to those living in the
Coachella Valley – and as a way
to create a sense of community
among members.

In addition, they are equipped with the
Shark Experience that, among other
amenities, lets you know exactly how far
you are from the pin.
Having played Classic Club just prior
to overseeding in September as a Ber-
munda turf course and now after over-
seed as a rye grass course, it was fun to
compare. Enjoyed them both times, how-
ever, playing an overseeded Classic Club
is simply a stunning golf experience.
The greens were running fast, firm and
smooth – just the way I like them. The
fairways were lush with excellent lies all
day, and the rough was a lush 2 to 3
inches. The bunkers were simply immac-
ulate as they had been recently renovated.
The tee boxes were lush, level and perfect.
The Arnold Palmer design is a very
challenging golf course. I stepped back
with my group to play the blue tees, but
probably should have played the white
tees. Classic Club used to be a host course
of the PGA Tour's Bob Hope Classic and
you can quickly see why. If I had a five-
course rotation to play out in the desert,
Classic Club gets an automatic bid.
Fantastic practice facilities, service and
clubhouse. Highly recommended!
The par-4 16th hole is a
