Bunker renovation will vastly
improve course conditions
W
hile a complete
bunker renova-
tion project like
the one currently
under way at
Classic Club can be a long and com-
plicated undertaking, Director of
Agronomy Tony Spannaus said the
efforts are moving along smoothly
and that when golfers return to the
course September 1, they'll be raving
about the major improvements.
The course has been closed since
July 5, and the project is nearly 60
percent complete, Spannaus said.
Dozens of workers have been on the
course each day, laboring in the sun
to remove approximately 50 percent
of the course's bunkers while over-
hauling the remaining ones to look
The golf course is set to
re-open on September 1.
