HONORED FOR ITS NEW DESIGN
A
fter a two-year reconstruction
project, the Baylands Golf
Links re-opened on Memorial
Day weekend last year to the delight
of San Francisco Bay Area golfers. The
course sported a whole new look and
feel, and the par-71, 6,680-yard layout
designed by Forrest Richardson, and
built by Wadsworth Golf Construction,
offered a major upgrade from the orig-
inal Palo Alto Municipal Golf Course.
That move paid significant divi-
dends recently as Baylands was
named as one of the American Society
of Golf Course Architects' winners of
its Design Excellence Recognition Pro-
gram, which honors projects for ad-
dressing unique design challenges as
well as demonstrating innovation and
problem-solving skills.
