W hen you visit Borrego Springs Resort & Spa, you'll quickly realize that there's no need to leave the grounds to seek any of the adven- ture or relaxation you desire. With an immaculate golf course, a top-notch spa, excellent dining options and plenty of recreational opportunities, a trip to the resort could be considered a "staycation" of a different sort. As the only full-service golf and spa resort in the Anza Borrego Desert, guests can enjoy the extreme serenity of their surroundings however they wish. There are 100 immaculate guest rooms and luxury suites, two heated swimming pools and six lighted ten- nis courts. Spa Serenity offers massages, facials, body wraps and scrubs, manicures and pedicures, a relax- ation room, steam showers and more. At the center of the property is the 6,570-yard, par-71 golf course that was ranked No. 18 in 2017 on Golf Ad- visor's list of the top 25 courses in California. It's an ideal layout for resort players, said Mark Stevens, the CEO of CSC Golf Management, which manages the property. "The course that Cary Bickler designed is very playable, but challenging," Stevens said. "The holes play longer than the yardage says on some, and the greens are smooth and true, but have subtle breaks. We keep the golf course in amazing shape." Whether you're there to play golf or visit the spa, a trip to Borrego Springs Resort isn't complete without a meal at The Arches Restaurant, which pairs fine dining in a casual atmosphere with panoramic views of the golf course and Santa Rosa Mountains.
