MEET THE TEAM BOOK A TEE TIME D aniel Moore may be new to Classic Club's Bellatrix Restaurant, but the recently hired Director of Food and Beverage has worked in the Coachella Valley for more than 25 years and has developed an appreciation for the region's unique dining scene. We sat down with him not long ago to talk about his background, what he likes to cook at home and the best prime rib in the Valley. uuu When did you start at Classic Club? My first day was May 1. uuu Where did you grow up, and how did you end up in the Coachella Valley? I was raised in Dearborn, Michigan, and moved to the Valley in 1991 for a job. My wife also was born and raised here. uuu How did you get involved in the food and beverage industry? I started with a high school internship with Hyatt Hotels. uuu What do you enjoy about working in food and beverage? I love creating new menus and meeting new people. uuu What were you doing prior to working at Classic Club? I worked for seven years at Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa and eight years at LG's Prime Steakhouse. uuu What attracted you to the position at Classic Club? It had a lot to do with the fabulous property and the club's standing in the local community. uuu What are some of your responsibilities? I'm in charge of creating new menus, training staff, coordinating banquets, and everything that involves food and beverage here at Classic Club. uuu What is your favorite item on the menu at Bellatrix and why? I love everything. If I had to pick one thing, it would be the prime rib on Wednesday nights – it's the best in the Valley. uuu What is your favorite dish to cook at home and why? I really enjoying cooking holiday dinners. I love to make family and friends happy with food made from the heart. uuu Will you be making any changes to food and beverage and, if so, what? We're working on a new prix- fixe menu and a happy hour menu. uuu What's the best part of your job so far? Working with all staff here at the club – there's really a sense of family. uuu What is one thing people might be surprised to know about you? I love to water ski. uuu What do you like to do in your spare time?
