C
hances are you've watched Golf
Channel or read about the game
online at your favorite golf news
outlet recently, and you've proba-
bly seen the new Cobra Golf piece featuring
Rickie Fowler in the company's "Smart
Life – Smart Golf" campaign.
The content showcases a day in the life of
the PGA Tour star, utilizing smart technol-
ogy to check the weather, access his calen-
dar, start his car and, of course, get the most
out of his golf game using
Cobra Connect technology.
Using Arccos 360 technology
embedded within the grip of
each club, Cobra Connect al-
lows Fowler – and players
everywhere – to access via the
company's mobile app the in-
formation they need to hit better golf shots.
Mike Yagley, Cobra's Senior Director of
Innovation/AI, said the new technology is
all about providing golfers with easily acces-
sible data that will help them play their best.
"We believe that utilizing advanced ana-
lytics to make smarter, data-driven decisions
on the course can dramatically improve the
performance of any player," Yagley said.
"We are trying to help golfers make better-
informed decisions about their practice time
and on-course club selections, so they can
play better golf and shoot lower scores. Who
doesn't want that?"
Yagley said the idea with the campaign is
to highlight the fact that we use technology
and 'smart' devices in so many other aspects
of our lives
"Why should golf be any different? Even
the best players in the world like Rickie use
data and technology to help make life a little
easier on and off course," he said. "Rickie
utilizes Cobra Connect to help him improve
his game, and Cobra Golf is giving amateur
golfers the chance to do the same."
Cobra Connect was first introduced last
year in the company's KING F7 driver, al-
lowing golfers to automatically track the dis-
tance and accuracy of every drive.
This year, the company brought the sys-
tem to its full lineup of clubs, helping golfers
track and analyze their performance
throughout the bag. Cobra Connect is avail-
able in the KING F8 family as well as KING
Forged Tech black iron sets.
"At Cobra Golf our goal is to help golfers
have more fun on the course, and playing
better golf certainly adds to the fun," Yagley
said. "With Cobra Connect, we're giving
golfers of all skill sets the opportunity to im-
prove their game, have memorable rounds
and ultimately have more fun playing golf."
