ne of the hottest new products
in golf shops this spring will
make it much easier for
golfers to hit the green and
zero in on the flagstick.
The Bushnell Golf Hybrid Laser
Rangefinder and GPS was released in
mid-April and features the company's
trusted laser rangefinder yardages to
every pin and also shows GPS-measured
distances to the front and back of all
greens – all integrated into one display to
provide golfers with more vital informa-
tion than ever before.
"It's like having a pin sheet in the palm
of your hand," said Derek Schuman, a
Senior Brand Manager for Bushnell Golf.
"You now have every number you need to
select the right club and play all your
shots with the utmost confidence. In addi-
tion to knowing the exact distance to the
flag, you now have that coupled with
front and back GPS distances so you now
know your distance to carry a false front,
or your yardage to avoid going over the
back edge of the green. Ultimately, you
will better manage your game having
these distances."
Bushnell was the first company to mar-
ket a combined laser and GPS product
earlier this decade, but the Hybrid is the
first product that combines all the infor-
mation into one easy-to-read LCD display.
While the GPS is powered by a
rechargeable lithium ion battery, the laser
operates off a disposable CR2 battery, so
you can still get laser distances if you for-
get to recharge the unit. Like other recent
Bushnell products, the device comes with
JOLT technology that makes the unit vi-
brate when you lock in on the pin, and the
Hybrid is still small enough to comfort-
ably fit in the palm of your hand.
"Reaction has been very positive,"
Schuman said. "Consumers are excited to
have the pin distance coupled with the
front and back distances because it takes
that much more of the guesswork out of
the equation for them."
