The 12,000-square-foot store was sched- uled for a soft opening in late January fol- lowed by a grand opening event set for February 23-25, said Darryl Taylor, the Regional Manager for Worldwide Golf Shops in Southern California. "It's not too different from a lot of our other locations in that we have a similar look throughout all our stores, but it's dif- ferent in the perspective that it's really in an 'A' location," said Taylor, who oversees 14 stores in the region. "We're in a really accessible area with a big parking lot that's easy to get to across from the West- field Topanga mall, and that makes a huge difference in the experience that our cus- tomers have visiting our stores." Taylor said Worldwide Golf Shops has explored locations in the west San Fer- nando Valley before, due to the fact that there are plenty of courses – and golfers – nearby. Golfers in that region previously had to drive to North Hollywood or West L.A. to find one of the company's stores. And while the mileage wasn't significant, L.A.'s notoriously brutal traffic was a de- terrent to getting in the car. "Opening this store really completes us on the north side of the city," Taylor said. "We're excited to be able to add some- thing to the golf industry and to the re- gion." While the golf retail space has consoli- dated considerably during the last decade, Worldwide Golf Shops has continuously expanded and found new and unique ways to meet golfers' needs, Taylor added. Like its other stores, the Roger Dunn in Canoga Park will offer top-of-the-line golf equipment from the best brands in the game, including recently released gear and accessories. In addition, the store will offer launch monitor club-fitting technology, golf simu- lators, indoor hitting bays, an indoor put- ting green, full-service club repair, major brand fitting carts, and the company's 100 percent 90-day satisfaction guarantee. ......................................................................... > CLICK HERE for store hours and contact information.
