ike most golfers who have
developed a lifelong zest for
the game, Carrie Canoy was
introduced to the sport at a young
age by her father. Since then, the 31-
year-old has not only become a
pretty good stick playing to a 5
handicap, she's also found a way to
turn her passion into a career.
We recently caught up with the
newly appointed general manager at
Arcadia Golf Course to learn more
about her life in the game…

what does your job entail and
what do you enjoy most about it?
I manage the overall business at
the golf course. I like the daily
interactions with guests, and being
able to provide a service that
everyone can enjoy.

what is one thing you'd like golfers
to know who have never played at
arcadia golf course? The greens are
awesome, and people are missing
out on an opportunity to improve
their game at a great location.

what is your favorite thing about
the golf course? I really love the
lights! I think what really sets us
apart from other courses is that you
can play until 10 p.m. every night.

what's your favorite thing about
the game of golf? I like the social
aspect of golf. It is a unique game
that you can play for years and years
with all of your pals.

how did you first become involved
in the game? My dad brought me
back my first set of clubs from
England when I was 4 years old and
I've been playing ever since.

what is your motto on the golf
course? Have fun!

what is your best score ever and
where? Silverhorn Golf Course in
Oklahoma City. I shot a solid 70.

what one word would you use to
describe yourself? Positive.

who would be in your dream
foursome? Annika Sorenstam, Juli
Inkster, Lexi Thompson, Lydia Ko.

what is your most treasured golf
possession? A signed flag from my
teammates at Silverhorn.

your fondest memory on the
course? Playing golf with my dad.

what it your greatest achievement
in golf? Coaching kids and sharing
my love of golf with them. Several
have gone on to play for high school
and college teams.

what might someone be surprised
to know about you? I played college
basketball.

what do you like to do outside of
work? Hiking, camping, surfing
(trying to surf) – anything outdoors I
am willing to try.
