BENEFITS OF JOINING THE CLUB T he Players Club offers members a slew of benefits that will not only save you money on your green fees, but will also help you improve your golf game. And with the new Amped membership, players can extend those benefits beyond their home course to numerous other American Golf- managed properties. The cost to join The Players Club is $29.99 or $39.99, depending on the course, and includes benefits such as daily range credit, access to free clinics, and cart fee-only golf after certain times. The program is available at nearly two dozen Southern California courses. > CLiCK here for a list of courses. week, at the guaranteed lowest rate." Kimberling cited Coyote Hills Golf Course as an example. While the rack rate for a weekday round is $75 at the Fullerton course, The Players Club Amped members can reserve a tee time for just $35 on a weekday before noon. He said the program could expand to include discounted access to a handful of courses outside the American Golf family, and feels that the Amped offering was a natural extension of the incredibly popular Players Club, which was first launched in 2014. "We've had a lot of success with The Players Club," Kimberling said. "We established it at nearly 50 golf courses across the country – and as we did that, we began to look at what the next phase would be, and we started to develop The Players Club Amped." The Amped program essentially gives members access to more tee times at more golf courses at rates that allow them to spend more time on the fairways and greens. "The golf industry is always trying to figure out how to engage golfers and attract new ones," Kimberling said, "so we asked ourselves, 'How do we come up with a program that makes the game of golf more accessible?' "We tried to make it as easy as possible to participate. It's all done online so it's a pretty smooth, streamlined system and encourages people to play golf as much as they would like." A couple of other notable changes to The Players Club offerings have recently been implemented at American Golf- managed courses in Southern California. At Arcadia Golf Course, an 18-hole par-3 layout with lights for night golf and an expansive practice area, the monthly fee for The Players Club membership is going to be reduced from $39.99 to $29.99. Casta del Sol Golf Course in Mission Viejo began offering The Players Club May 1. For a $19.99 monthly fee, players receive deep savings on green fees, with weekday rates of $18 with cart and super twilight rates of $5 seven days a week. "I was a part of The Players Club launch at Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course in Irvine a few years ago and witnessed first- hand the benefits of the program for golfers, our team members and the course itself," said Jose Farfan, the General Manager of Casta del Sol. "Casta del Sol's guests are part of a tight-knit community, and this membership will only help strengthen the bond that our golfers and team members have with the course." THE PLAYERS CLUB The Players Club rates are being reduced at Arcadia Golf Course.
