ne of the signs of a great menu is how the
dishes pair with the available wines, and
Bellatrix Restaurant's wine list is hard to
beat. The newest menu item is the Mahi Mahi, which
features the savory fish sitting atop a red pepper
polenta and served with leeks, fennel and rock
shrimp salad.
"This item would pair great with a Dom Reverdy-
Ducroux Sancerre, moderately priced at $29 for
the bottle," said Julian Gastelum, Food & Beverage
Director at Classic Club.
Gastelum also offered wine pairings for two of Bel-
latrix's most popular dishes, starting with his sugges-
tion to pair the Tapenade Half Rack of Lamb with
Heitz Zinfandel 2009 Napa Valley, priced at $35.
"This dish is one of my favorites," said Gastelum.
"The gastrique that the chef drizzles on top ties the
whole dish together."
Gastelum's next suggestion comes via the
Shrimp Linguica Linguine, with fresh roasted garlic,
heirloom tomatoes, wilted greens and pesto cream,
which he suggests enjoying with Merryvale
Chardonnay 2014 because of its nice buttery body
and balanced acidity.
"The chef uses large tiger shrimp, and the linguica
gives a light spice to the dish and a feeling of
Spanish home cooking," Gastelum said.

Champagne Brunch is one of the
tastiest and most special tradi-
tions at Classic Club. With gour-
met entrées, a carving station,
breakfast fare, made-to-order
dessert and champagne specials,
this brunch is a thoughtful, fes-
tive way to honor your mom,
grandmother or other important
women in your life.
"Our Mother's Day Brunch is
an exciting event I am always eager to host be-
cause moms deserve more thanks and recognition
than you could ever fit into one day," said Julian
Gastelum, Food & Beverage Director at Classic
Club. "There are a million reasons that make
moms worthy of a celebration, but whatever the
reason, we want to make the day about them."
The Champagne Brunch will be held on
Mother's Day, May 14, from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
and Gastelum encourages guests to make reserva-
tions well in advance as seating fills up fast.
The cost for the brunch is $49 for adults and
$20 for children ages 6-12; children under the age
of 6 eat free.
