sCotty Cameron futura
plenty of style and seleCtion
w
ith 33 major championship victories since 1993 and a large percent-
age of PGA Tour players trusting the most important part of their
game to the brand, it's hard to go wrong with a Scotty Cameron in your bag.
The futura line, released in mid-March, features seven different models,
ensuring that no matter what style putter you prefer, there's one that suits
your game and fits your eye. Throughout the lineup, the putters offer en-
hanced stability and forgiveness, improved alignment features and respon-
sive feel and feedback. "There has definitely been some interest in the new
Scotty Cameron putters right away," said Steve Ax, a club salesman and cus-
tom clubfitter at Van's Golf Shop in Scottsdale, Arizona. "I think we sold two
the first day we had them in store." shop here.
GREAT SCOTT!
Callaway Chrome soft X
rolling out the new models
C
allaway bills its Chrome Soft as "the ball that changed the ball," and PGA Tour players
love the performance from tee to green. New this season, the Chrome soft X offers
the same high performance standards with longer distance, soft feel, piercing
trajectory, workable flight and exceptional control around the greens. "Soft
core golf balls don't always transfer energy the way they should for play-
ers with bigger golf swings, so having a ball that's a little firmer – even
though it's still low compression – is really nice," said Chris Nugent, the
assistant manager at Uinta Golf of Sandy, Utah. "I played it last fall as
part of a test group and I liked it a lot."
Meanwhile, the Chrome soft with truvis technology has exploded
in popularity since the unique ball was first introduced two years ago.
With hexagon patterns similar to a soccer ball, the improved visibility can
help players better understand how the ball rolls and spins.
