The unofficial start to the golf season has gloriously arrived
S
pring is a great time of the year for the golf industry and
those who love the game. It's when the first major of the
season arrives as the azaleas bloom and fairways turn
emerald green. It's when the days begin to get longer and
the unofficial start to the golf season kicks into high
gear across the country. It's also the time of year
when club manufacturers are showcasing their
latest and greatest gear.
From Callaway's aptly named Epic line of
metals to new offerings from TaylorMade, Cobra,
Titleist, Wilson, Honma and Srixon, today's club
makers continue to push the boundaries and raise
the bar while redefining how their equipment performs
for both tour players and everyday golfers, all the while adhering
to the guidelines set forth by the powers that be at the USGA.
But just what is it that makes this year's crop of clubs stand out
from year's past? Great question. And it's one we posed to half a
dozen of our customers who recently joined us on the driving
range for our third annual Hot Shots club test, which you can
read all about this edition of the Insider.
From enhanced feel and added distance to greater playability
and more versatility, there was no shortage of insight into what
club makers are doing to enhance enjoyment of the game for all.
