chArITY EVEnTs BOOK A TEE TIME H ere's a look at some of the upcoming charity events happening at Classic Club: MArch 18 • The Southern California Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is hosting the eighth an- nual Desert Cities for MS Tourna- ment to raise money that will further research and efforts to stop MS. Participants of the four- person scramble tournament will receive lunch, drinks, snacks, range balls, game entries and a chance to win multiple contests, such as Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin. APrIl 1 • The non-profit foundation Kids in Conflict will hold its annual golf tournament to raise funds to pro- vide resources and rehabilitative programs for youth at Indio Juve- nile Hall, as they help youth in the Youthful Offender Program be- come productive citizens in the community. APrIl 7 • The California Highway Patrol 11- 99 Foundation will host the Desert Patrolmen's Squad Club Golf Tournament to raise funds that will provide emergency ben- efit to CHP employees and their families in times of crisis. The four- player scramble tournament will begin with registration at 6:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The $150 per player/$560 per foursome entry fee includes range balls, golf, gift bag and lunch. lEArn MOrE. FOr A wOrThY cAusE Annual Patrick Warburton event raises funds for kids TEE IT uP FOr chArITY C O N T I N U E D > > T he Patrick Warburton Golf for Kids Celebrity Golf Tournament held March 9-12 was another block- buster success. The event, which exceeded its goal by raising more than $2.2 million for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, was hosted by actor Patrick Warburton and included a celebrity golf tourna- ment at Classic Club, a 5K walk/run, several parties, a Songwriters' Night featuring renowned Nashville singers telling stories behind and performing their biggest hits, and a drag racing and autocross event held at the BMW Performance Driving Center West.
