he awards keep rolling in for Classic
Club. Earlier this year, the club's golf
shop was named a 2017 Platinum
Award winner by the Association of Golf
Merchandisers, one of the most prestigious
honors awarded to golf shops across the
country.
While Classic Club had been selected
for the award by the international asso-
ciation of golf-related merchandisers and
vendors a number of times previously, that
doesn't make being included this year any
less special. The club's staff strives for excel-
lence on a daily basis, and the award is affir-
mation that they're achieving that.
"It's an honor, especially as a public golf
course," said Classic Club Merchandiser
Miriah Garcia. "We hold ourselves to a high
standard, and it's really nice for the club to
be noticed for our hard work. Every one of
us in the golf shop tries to go above and be-
yond in terms of keeping the shop looking
great and providing excellent customer
service."
Garcia said one of the things that makes
the golf shop unique is its large selec-
tion of women's clothing. Of course,
there are plenty of choices for men
as well, and Garcia and her team
keep the inventory stocked with the
latest styles and trends from the top
names in golf for men and women.
Classic Club was one of 17 Troon-managed
facilities named Platinum Award winners.
Hundreds of courses submitted nominations
for their golf shops, and entries were judged
on categories including customer satisfaction
initiatives, creative use of space, inventory
control practices, revenue-generating initia-
tives, promotions and visual displays.
