I
f one of your New Year's reso-
lutions was to become a better
golfer, then a natural first step
toward that goal is taking golf les-
sons. This helps you get the most
out of your time on the course,
and allows you to work with an
instructor to improve specific parts
of your game.
Here are four things you need to
know to make the most out of the
experience:
1
identify your weaknesses. If
you are already an avid player,
you probably know where your
misses are and what your bad ten-
dencies can be. Communicate
clearly with your instructor on
what you are experiencing with
your game so your teacher can
best tailor a lesson plan around
the areas you are trying to im-
prove. If you are just beginning,
make sure your instructor
knows that too.
2
dedicate your time and efforts.
How much time are you going
to spend on improving your
game?
Much like anything in life, the
more you practice, the better and
more comfortable you feel with it.
Allot yourself some time weekly to
put a club in your hands and take
some swings.
3
Have patience. Getting better at
golf is not something that hap-
pens overnight. Some of us are
born with patience – others, not so
much. Know before you get
started in golf that you will need
plenty of this!
4
Make the most of your sched-
uled lesson time. Be ready to go
when your lesson starts. As we all
know, time is valuable. Be on time,
warmed up and ready to learn.
This will allow you to maximize
the time you have with your in-
structor and really work on im-
proving your game.
