■ 3 WAYS TO GET MORE
DISTANCE OFF THE TEE
I
t's been said that you
drive for show and putt
for dough. And that may
be true. But, really, is there
anything more enjoyable and
satisfying in golf than stand-
ing on the tee, squaring up
and crushing a ball into the
stratosphere?
Of course not.
With that vision in mind,
equipment makers have
pulled out all the stops in
2017 to deliver what golfers
really want: more distance –
and accuracy – off the tee.
Here's a look at a few of
the best from the game's top
equipment makers:
TAYLORMADE
M1 & M2 DRIVERS
■ Same letter, better everything. That's
a bold claim from TaylorMade Golf. But
it appears the company has delivered
on its promise. Touting a new multi-ma-
terial construction, the 2017 M1 and M2
feature a lighter core and bigger club
heads than their predecessors. Addition-
ally, the M1 is equipped with a longer
and heavier sliding weight system to
allow for more control and forgiveness,
while the M2 has made updates to help
improve ball speed on off-center hits.

CALLAWAY
EPIC DRIVERS
■ Callaway Golf long ago broke the
mold with its innovative line of Great
Big Bertha drivers. It seeks to do so
again with the new GBB Epic, which the
company says represents a monumental
shift in how the club head and club face
react at impact to produce more dis-
tance. This occurs thanks to what is
being dubbed Jailbreak ball speed
technology, which reduces the driver's
crown and sole deflection and creates
more energy across more of the face.

TITLEIST
917 DRIVERS
■ The new Titleist 917 line of drivers
are all about adjustability. They are de-
signed to provide increased club head
speed for more distance, but what re-
ally makes the 917 series stand out are
the 16 unique loft and lie combinations
possible via the SureFit hosel and the
SureFit CG system. This allows you to
adjust the club's center of gravity to
favor a draw or fade depending on your
preferred ball flight.
