a very Good year
It's been a memorable 12 months in the world of golf
T
he holiday season is upon us and it won't be long before
2016 is in the rear view mirror. All in all, I'd say the past
year was pretty gratifying in the world of golf. We saw four
first-time major championship winners as the level of
talent on the PGA Tour looks deeper than ever, club
manufacturers and equipment makers continued
to outdo themselves with innovation and game-
changing breakthroughs, and enthusiasm for the
sport appears to be on the rise as the National
Golf Foundation reported earlier this year that for
the first time since 2012 the number of golf rounds
played across the county are trending upward.
That's good news on all fronts – and leaves me very much
looking forward to the year ahead. Tiger's impending return to
full-field Tour competition is only going to create more excitement
among golfers and manufacturers show no signs of resting on
their laurels – in fact, Titleist was recently in the prototype stages
with an updated version of its incredibly popular Pro V1 and
Pro V1x golf balls that are set to debut in early 2017.
With that said, I'd like to take a moment to thank all of the read-
ers of this space over the past 12 months, as well as those who pa-
tronize our stores and shop with us online. It's your loyalty and
dedication to the game that makes our efforts worthwhile. Here's
