The week will include a variety of golf-themed events, instructional clinics and com- petitions at participating golf clubs. For instance, ASU Karsten is offer- ing a twosome special during the week, which consists of two rounds of golf and two sleeves of balls for $134 Monday-Thursday and $149 Friday- Sunday. Eagle Mountain is offering 18 holes, breakfast or lunch, two drinks and a $20 retail certificate for $129 Monday-Thursday and $139 Fri- day through Sunday. Longbow Golf Club is offering two rounds of golf during the week, rental clubs, a sleeve of balls and 20 percent off items in its restaurant for $115. Four players can play for the price of three at McDow- ell Mountain, and play at Palm Val- ley is 25 percent off during the week. Like all Dye courses, it's creative and challenging, featuring his signature mounding, unique bunkering style and perilous greens. The back tees stretch 7,002 yards – and they're called "professional tees" for a reason, while the championship tees play to a more manageable 6,228 yards. Memorable holes abound, including a daunting par-3 16th hole, which is 248 yards from the tips, and the par-4 18th, which is vigorously guarded by water down the left side and ranks among the toughest finishing holes in the state.
